Curriculum - Inquiry

At Lancefield Primary School we provide our students with a wide range of Big Idea learning opportunities. Four main areas have been identified as key concepts that will help our students to become creative, critical and responsible citizens. These units create a base for students to develop important skills that can be used in many areas of their learning and life. These skills include (but are not limited to): researching, classifying, synthesising, questioning, designing, presenting and many, many more.

Our Big Ideas which are included in the yearly program are:

Community (Local & Global) Ourselves, Environment, Science & Innovation.

These Big Ideas guide our planning of more specific units of work. When planning each unit, our teachers consider the needs and interests of the students they will be working with, the skills the students need to develop and the Victorian Curriculum Standards and Capabilities.
